Build Harvey. Restore Trust.
Lonnie Harrison, Jr. is a pastor, entrepreneur, community builder, and former Director of Building and Planning for the City of Harvey. For more than three decades, he has created jobs, managed organizations, mentored young people, supported families, and mobilized resources for communities in need. He has left City employment to run for mayor full-time because he believes Harvey is ready to build, restore, and rise again.

Why Lonnie Harrison is Running
Because Harvey needs a builder.
Harvey does not need another cycle of promises. It needs a mayor who understands how to move from vision to execution—how to organize people, manage operations, develop property, attract resources, and deliver measurable results.
Because Harvey needs restored trust.
Harvey’s official motto is “Integrity, Unity, Pride.” Lonnie Harrison, Jr. has made restoring those principles a commitment of his campaign:
-
Integrity in government.
-
Unity across neighborhoods and generations.
-
Pride in Harvey’s homes, businesses, streets, institutions, and public spaces.
Because Lonnie Harrison, Jr. has seen Harvey from several perspectives.
Lonnie Harrison, Jr. has experienced Harvey as:
-
A pastor serving families.
-
A business owner creating jobs.
-
A community organizer distributing resources.
-
A counselor helping people rebuild their lives.
-
A municipal department director working with buildings, development, and City systems.
-
A resident and stakeholder who believes Harvey’s decline is not irreversible.
Harvey’s location remains an economic asset
Harvey’s greatest advantage is already in place: its location.
As the Gateway to the South Suburbs, Harvey connects major transportation and economic corridors.
That access makes the city a prime destination for business, logistics, and redevelopment.
With focused leadership and investment, Lonnie Harrison believes that Harvey can become a regional economic powerhouse again.

Residents need City Hall to deliver
Lonnie Harrison, Jr. will work to expand local hiring, stabilize housing, and invest in neighborhood services to help families build economic security. Partnering with employers and training programs wi connect residents with living-wage jobs and long-term career opportunities.

Rebuild neighborhoods and address abandoned property
Create pathways for residents and local developers to restore vacant homes. Under Lonnie Harrison's plan, he will help secure funding for demolition, environmental cleanup, home repairs, and neighborhood stabilization. This plan will target redevelopment in areas facing the greatest vacancy and safety risks.
